When God created the earth and put man on it, His plan was to extend the invisible kingdom of heaven to God to the visible realm of earth. Every kingdom has a unique culture. The culture of a kingdom originates from the character and philosophy of the head of the kingdom. In the case of the kingdom of God, it is the Godhead. God visited Adam to train him on how to rule on earth righteously. The God-head was serious about this. Eden was a model for how the dominion project was to be achieved. Success was however dependent on Adam’s continued relationship with God. God’s desire was for earth to experience the reality of heaven.
Although Adam failed in his commission and lost dominion, God’s plan was not eternally lost. Jesus death and resurrection kicked the plan right back into play. Through Jesus’s death and resurrection, God was now able to redeem mankind to Himself. This is how the Body of Christ was birthed. The Body of Christ takes the agenda and mandate of the Kingdom of God. No matter one’s social, educational, race, gender, age, profession and career endeavour, once you surrender your life to the Lord, you the same mandate. The call to ‘come out from among them and be holy’, is not a call to isolation. It is rather a call to be loosed from the influence of this world’s fallen culture and to seek the influence of the kingdom of God and its righteousness above all.
Holiness therefore, is not primarily about going to heaven. It’s about being like God. It’s about revealing the nature and character God to people far from him. Holiness is a call to be immersion into the God’s ways, from whence we can influence the world. We cannot influence world we look like. We cannot change the world we will not engage. We cannot redeem the world we will not love. The mandate of the people of God is to influence and redeem people in all spheres of live. At the conclusion of this age, an Angel of the Lord makes a powerful declaration and says, ‘Now the kingdoms of this world have now become the kingdoms of our God and His Christ” (Revelations 11:15). This was in essence the report card of God’s original plan. The angel says the plan has finally been achieved.
Basileia means royal power, kingship, dominion or rule. We believe that the call of God upon us is to teach and raise up a people who will influence their communities with the life and message of the kingdom of God.
It is my hope that you will join hands with us and many others in our community, as we all work towards the realisation of the Lord’s desire - on earth as it is heaven.
